![]() Pegg also mentions fellow long-time collaborator Nick Frost, so it’s clear that if this project goes ahead, they would be ‘getting the band back together.’ From the way Pegg describes it, it feels like this potential upcoming project between him and Edgar Wright may only be a matter of time. It’s uncertain whether this new project would be a follow up to the beloved Cornetto Trilogy (making it a Quadrilogy) or something new entirely. The prospect of a new feature from the two will most certainly be of interest to fans of The Cornetto Trilogy who haven’t seen a combined effort from the two in nearly 10 years. Thus, the director may be more inclined to return to an older creative partnership, which always provided reliable box office results, for a new project. It is also worth considering that Wright’s last feature Last Night in Soho, while well received critically, was unfortunately a major financial disappointment at the box office. Both men will have evolved creatively since 2013’s The World End and would be sure to bring a slightly different flavor to something produced within the context of the 2020s. While the two have gone in their separate directions since the end of The Cornetto Trilogy, a realignment of their career paths after a decade-long break would almost certainly produce a high-quality film, but also likely one that is considerably different from their previous work. The main issue, Pegg clarifies, is aligning the schedules of both parties, since as both men are considerably more in demand as compared to the days of their low-budget roots. Pegg confirmed that, as he and Wright have been friends for years, there are definitely discussions going on between the two in regards to another project. In an interview with ComicBook, Pegg teased that his collaborations with Wright might not be finished just yet. He’s humble, smart and a fine actor who’s provided some of the best laughs in over a decade. Likewise, Pegg has become an established Hollywood star, having key supporting roles in major franchise series such as Star Trek and the Mission: Impossible movies. It’s not only the geeks who have a soft spot for the British actor, but anyone who’s ever seen any of his films. Wright has gone on to push past his boundaries as a filmmaker, directing the straight-faced thriller Baby Driver, a nostalgic horror feature in Last Night in Soho, and even a documentary, The Sparks Brothers. With Seth Grogen as the voice of Paul, and a supporting cast that includes Sigourney Weaver and Jason Bateman it could be a good one, then again as it’s NOT written by Edgar Wright it could be total pants.Since the end of the series in 2013, Wright and Pegg have remained friends while moving on to have their own separate careers. The kinds you always have when you’re travelling cross country with an alien. It stars Pegg, Nick Frost, Paddy Considine, Martin Freeman, Eddie Marsan. ![]() It is the third and final installment in the Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy, after Shaun of the Dead (2004) and Hot Fuzz (2007). Cue fun, frolics, mishaps and hilarious situations. The World's End is a 2013 apocalyptic science fiction comedy film directed by Edgar Wright from a screenplay by Wright and Simon Pegg. Pursued by the Feds and the Father of Kristen Wiig, the woman they (accidentally) kidnap, the race is on to re-unite Paul with his Mothership before the authorities can lock him up again. Along the way they stumble upon Paul, an alien ‘on the run’, from a top secret military base. New film ‘Paul’ sees Simon and Nick play two British sci-fi geeks making a pilgrimage to UFO’sville, USA in a ‘RV’ camper van. The modern day Morecombe and Wise have been involved in some of my favourite movies of the past few years including ‘Shaun of the Dead’ and ‘Star Trek’. Since their beginnings in the wonderful TV series ‘Spaced’ I always look out for stuff with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in.
